Medication Cycle #1

July 11th - We got the go ahead to start our first medicated cycle using Letrozole and Ovidrel

July 29th - After a 47 day cycle, CD1 was finally here. I sent a portal message to my fertility doctor and got my initial ultrasound scheduled for the following Monday.

August 1st - Ultrasound #1. CD4. Everything came back normal and we were given the green light to begin Letrozole that afternoon.

August 1st-5th - CD4-8. I took 5mg of Letrozole daily for 5 days to help promote follicle growth.

August 8th - Ultrasound #2. CD11. The ultrasound showed a follicle that was measuring at 9.7mm, but it wasn't at the 18mm they were hoping for to be able to do the trigger shot (Ovidrel). I went back on another round of Letrozole.

August 8th-12th. CD11-15. I took 7.5mg of Letrozole daily for 5 days to continue to help to follicles grow to the appropriate size.

August 12th - Ultrasound #3. CD15. The ultrasound showed that the follicles have continued to grow. Follicles on the left were measuring at 10.6mm, 10.7mm, and 11mm. The follicle on the right was measuring at 9.35mm.

August 15th - Ultrasound #4. CD18. The ultrasound showed that the follicles were still growing, BUT continue to not be quite big enough for us to do the trigger shot. Follicles on the left were measuring at 10.5mm, 10.6mm, and 11mm. The follicles on the right were measuring at 10.3mm and 11.8mm.

August 18th - Ultrasound #5. CD21. The ultrasound showed that the follicles were FINALLY big enough for us to do the trigger shot. Follicles on the left were measuring at 12.4mm and 14.1mm. The follicles on the right were measuring at 13.0mm and 13.6mm. They said that based on the rate of growth and the current measurements they expect to have at least one follicle at 18mm by Saturday (8/20)

August 20th - CD23. We pulled the trigger! At 9pm on Saturday we did the trigger shot to force ovulation.

August 21st-September 3rd - CD24-37. The dreaded two week wait...
