Calm Before the Storm.. (post #1)

Updated: Jan 10, 2022

July 4th-10th, 2021.

I sat on the beach in Cancun with my husband and two of our best friends. We ate, we drank, and we enjoyed each others company. We celebrated the recent pregnancy announcement of the friends we were with and knew it was only a matter of time before we joined them in that next chapter of our lives.

July 16th, 2021.

We had been home from Mexico for almost a week when the pregnancy test showed two pink lines. We were over come with joy and happiness as we were about to move on to the next chapter of our lives together. We immediately told our parents and our closest friends.

Our first OB appointment. We walked into the office and anxiously waited to see our little jelly bean on the ultrasound. There they were, right there on the screen before us. We saw the heart beat, and I cried tears of joy that this was really happening. The ultrasound tech and nurse practitioner informed us that our baby was measuring at 6 weeks instead of 8 weeks like we had thought. She assured us that every thing looked good. Assured us that the heart beat looked strong despite being 2 weeks smaller than expected.

We told our grandparents, aunts, and uncles. We told a few of our cousins. We celebrated the little human that was growing inside of me. The little jelly bean that had already stolen so many hearts.
